Fear As A Tool

You're in a 12-step program... or you're in your fifth grade class sitting in the elementary school auditorium...

Or you're in therapy... or you're in shop class in high school...

Wherever you are, someone is telling you that you have a toolbox full of tools. They're right.

They tell you that in this toolbox there are all sorts of things that will help you build structures, while other people are tearing down theirs. They tell you that your tools in your toolbox can even help you repair what you've broken.

Sometimes we call it nervousness. Sometimes we call it anxiety. We've called it anger and sadness too. Sometimes we call ourselves stupid to be it, or crazy to let "it" get in the way.

Guess what "it" is?

That's right. Fear.

It's palpable these days everywhere as we wage war out in the world and contend with our inner wars on a daily basis. The fear can put one under, through the ringer, and torture you with all its agony.

When you begin to see that Fear is simply a tool for learning, you'll get lighter about Fear being in your toolbox.

It's your life. Choose powerfully.
